Who we are, and what we do.

Portland City Cider was established in 2018, and founded and created by Hailey Meyer. This is not a real company, it is designed for educational purposes for ComStrat 310 at Washington State University. Portland City Cider was created to be a modern and hip place, where friends and family can come to hangout, enjoy live music, and great tasting cider.  The Portland community is always finding the "next big thing" and cider is one of the fastest growing beverage industries in America. So why not create a place where you can get tons of different and unique tasting ciders? That's exactly what our goal is here at Portland City Cider. We use real ingredients to create the freshest tasting ciders. We also have a great happy hour too! So bring friends, family, a date, whoever you want, to sample and learn about the best cider company in the Pacific Northwest!

The Grand Opening

It's finally here! The official opening of Portland City Cider. We are open from 12PM to 12AM in Portland, OR. For this special occasion, all ciders are a dollar off! If you write a review or share one of our social media pages, enjoy any drink half off! We are so excited to welcome the Portland community and to introduce some new ciders we have been working endlessly on. Every season we will also be introducing new and improved ciders that are relevant to any festivities of that season. We use the freshest ingredients to make our craft ciders, and are positive you will taste the difference! We want to make it known that cider is the fastest growing beverage industry in America. We look forward to hearing feedback, any comments, and any questions that you all may have.

How's it Made?

Have you ever wondered how cider is made? Well here it is! We use a blend of fresh Washington grown apples to create our ciders. Come visit us this week and "find your favor!" Bring your friends and family and make your own flavors! This is how the process goes:

Step 1: Picking and Pressing the Apples

once ripe, apples are handpicked from orchards in eastern washington. apples are ground into a pulp then pressed, creating a sugary juice called “must.”

Step 2:Fermentation

in order to eliminate unwanted wild yeast and bacteria, the must is treated with sulfites. after 24 hours, a cultured yeast can be safely pitched, commencing fermentation. once all the sugars have converted into alcohol, leaving little to no residual sugar, fermentation is complete.

Step 3: Slarification

the cider is then run through a filter to help with clarification.

Step 4: Post-Fermentation

now its time to carbonate and and at times, back sweeten. this is the process of adding sugar back into the cider. the amount of residual sugar in a cider is measured in brix.

Step 5: Can, Bottle & Keg

enjoy! our ciders are packaged and sent off to be enjoyed. find them in 16-ounce cans, 22-ounce bottles and on draft.

Enjoy!
